About Walking to Wellness
In 2007, The College of St. Scholastica and the Well-U committee received nearly $27,000 from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota for a one year "Walking to Wellness" (pedometer program) to increase physical activity among full and part-time faculty and staff. The grant was successfully completed December 2007.

WELL U has decided to continue the Walking to Wellness program with some modifications. Please read more below to learn about the "NEW" Walking to Wellness format"
  • Pedometer packets and registration materials can be purchased for $5 by downloading the registration form. Feel free to purchase replacement pedometers this way too!
  • After creating a personal account, daily steps can be logged via the WellU website.
  • Individual steps will be tabulated continuously. Individual step leaders will be posted online using the current year data.
  • Random drawings for health and wellness related gifts will occur throughout the year. To be entered in the drawing all you have to do is participate.
  • Participants can post information on the headlines including request for a walking partner, posting of times and locations of when you walk, upcoming walking events, etc.
The primary goal of the "Walking to Wellness" program is to engage faculty and staff members in consistent and continuous physical activity on a daily or weekly basis. This physical activity program aligns with our Benedictine value of Stewardship; caring for one's own health and well-being is an important component of being a "steward of the self."

We hope to see you Walking!
